I. Flame Retardant Mechanism

1. The low bromine content captures free radicals generated during PP combustion, playing a crucial role in preventing combustion.

2. The combination of phosphorus and nitrogen produces inert gases such as NH3, CO2, and NO, which dilute and isolate oxygen and combustible gases during combustion, while simultaneously absorbing heat from the PP.

II. Product Features

1. Compared with general phosphorus and bromine flame retardants, it has a better surface gloss and is less prone to white spots. 1. Superior resistance to exudation, significantly improving issues such as exudation at the extrusion die and mold atomization. Widely used for flame-retardant modification of polypropylene requiring high gloss and a high surface finish.

2. No need to add antimony trioxide (Sb₂O₃). Low bromine content prevents flame retardant exudation, suitable for mineral-filled systems.

3. Can be used in homopolymer and copolymer PP, offering high temperature resistance, no exudation, and low addition amount.

4. Bromine content ≤900ppm, meeting halogen-free requirements for parts.

5. One model can be used for flame retardant of low-odor PP without exudation or blooming.

IV. Processing Precautions

1. Strictly control the processing temperature of each zone of the twin-screw extruder. High-shear screw combinations are not recommended.

2. Avoid using PE wax, stearic acid-based lubricants and dispersants. EBS is recommended.

3. Do not add calcium carbonate as a filler. Adding certain additives may adversely affect the appearance or flame-retardant properties of the flame-retardant resin particles. Conduct thorough testing and careful evaluation when selecting fillers.

4. Calcium carbonate is not recommended as a filler. Talc, precipitated barium sulfate, etc., can be used as fillers for certain models.

5. Some models, when added together with bromine-antimony systems, may cause flame retardant failure. Avoid using with octabromoether-based flame retardants, otherwise the flame-retardant products may easily turn gray and darken.

Please contact our company for specific model precautions.

V. Recommended Dosage

1. Example Dosage 1 (Dosage varies depending on the model): Homopolymer PPV2 + 25% Talc (1.6mm): 1% Copolymer PPV2 + 10% Barium Sulfate (3.2mm): 2%

2. Example Dosage 2 (Dosage varies depending on the model): Homopolymer PPV2 (1.6mm/3.2mm): 2%

VI. Packaging and Storage

Inner plastic woven bag, net weight 25KG per bag. Store and transport as non-toxic and non-hazardous goods. Avoid moisture.

Flame-retardant products manufactured using PP V2 flame retardant can achieve a controllable bromine content ≤900ppm, meeting IEC 61249-2-21 and UL 94 V-2 (1.5mm) standards, and passing IEC 60695 glow wire GWIT 750℃ and GWFI 850℃ tests. It complies with RoHS, SVHC, REACH, and other environmental requirements. Many PP V2 flame retardant formulations exist, and their effects may be similar; choosing the appropriate model is crucial.
